About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer III to join our team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of quality systems and process design, including the creation and management of documentation and support drawings. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert, advise teams and factories, mentor early- and mid-career quality engineers, and provide expert technical evaluations of external quality technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence using established quality engineering principles and best practices.
  • Provide significant and positive business impact to CoorsTek by introducing new ideas and solutions to expand the company’s CORE quality portfolio.
  • Advise teams and factories on resolving process upsets and driving new process implementation.
  • Independently represent CoorsTek with customers on technical matters across multiple markets and CoorsTek product offerings.
  • Mentor early- and mid-career quality engineers through one-on-one interactions, lectures, seminars, and classes.
  • Provide expert technical evaluation of external quality technologies, including advice to Senior Management on quality engineering, business processes, quality business systems, and/or key customer quality relationships.
  • Advisory role in creating quality roadmaps to capture new business opportunities and developing the long-term global strategy.
  • Choose and execute exploratory projects to develop innovative solutions for the company.
  • Apply accepted quality engineering principles, complete assigned tasks efficiently under minimal supervision, and confer with other technical personnel on complex matters.
  • Interpret customer and company technical drawings for sales and manufacturing departments to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with quality specifications; suggest modifications to improve the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and maintain complete and accurate written records (i.e., first article report and process documentation) for new products and/or processes, or improvements to existing product and/or processes.
  • Coordinate projects and quality engineering efforts across multiple product categories, processes, or sites as needed.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers to clarify points, research material, and investigate improvements to current and future processes.
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Excellent listening skills necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science, or Engineering, with 10 years relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Engineering, business, or related Physical Science with 7 years relevant experience; or PhD in Materials Science, related Physical Science, or Engineering with 5 years relevant experience.
  • Possess ability to perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in specific job-related software, and understanding of computer programs, applications, and databases.
  • Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation.
  • Understand manufacturing/quality techniques and possess thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Possess skills with Quality Management Systems, Quality Engineering (ASQ certification preferred), and project management.
  • Possess detailed understanding of machining processes and associated manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science, or Engineering, with 10 years relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Engineering, business, or related Physical Science with 7 years relevant experience; or PhD in Materials Science, related Physical Science, or Engineering with 5 years relevant experience.

Benefits

CoorsTek offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 108,192.00 - USD 142,814.00, actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
