Position Overview
Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc., a global leader in radiation safety, detection and measurement, seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead the design and assembly of complex systems and solutions for detecting, measuring, and identifying radioactive materials. The ideal candidate will focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Duties
- Manage and drive client projects, adhering to established project management processes.
- Own and run several complex projects at once, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives.
- Collaborate with various disciplines including Proposal Managers, Engineering, Physics, Product Managers, and Sales for support and project updates.
- Organize and conduct regular project team meetings, documenting action plans and task owners, and overseeing their completion.
- Communicate ongoing project progress through presentations and reports.
- Manage customer/stakeholder relationships and provide regular updates on projects.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests with customers as needed.
- Conduct project risk sessions, document results in Risk Registers, and follow up on actions.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts for all projects, including improvement plans to recover any margin deterioration.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in technical or Engineering/Sciences with strong project management skills, or Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a strong technical background.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- A sense of ownership and commitment to meeting customer needs.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with a sense of urgency.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to understand, manage, and analyze financial information related to projects (costs, margins, cash flow, payment milestones, risk analysis, etc.).
- Occasional travel domestically and/or internationally for projects may be required.
Additional Preferred Requirements
- Project Management Institute PMP® or CAPM® Certification.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience working within a technical environment.
- Understanding of design, procurement, and/or manufacturing processes.
- Experience executing U.S. Government-funded technical projects.
- Knowledge of the U.S. Federal Acquisition Register (FAR) for U.S. Government-funded technical projects.
