Manufacturing Production Supervisor I

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and support production associates.
  • Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.
  • Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards.
  • Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
  • Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Cookordination with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.
  • Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Enforce and promote safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
  • Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners.
  • Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train new production associates.
  • Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.
  • Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Generate reports for management on production metrics.

Qualifications and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Degree preferred.
  • Strong preference for Dairy experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a food production environment.
  • Food manufacturing experience is a must have.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership background - ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Ability to manage and develop associates.
  • Strong skills: Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 LBS.
