Stickley is seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader passionate about employee development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to supervise daily operations within the Upholstery Manufacturing team in Archdale, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement goals
- Coach, develop, and support production team members while building a culture of accountability and teamwork
- Maintain daily and weekly work schedules and adjust plans to meet production goals and business objectives
- Oversee product flow throughout assigned departments
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S workplace organization, standardized work, and process improvement activities
- Work with Group Leaders and staff to identify opportunities to improve workflow, maintain safety, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product quality
- Support the implementation and sustainment of process improvements through employee engagement and follow-up
- Ensure employees are trained on safety, quality standards, processes, and equipment
- Monitor production performance, address issues, and implement effective solutions
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other teams to improve operations
- Support employee growth through coaching, feedback, cross-training, and skill development
- Apply company policies, procedures, and performance expectations consistently and fairly; partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters, coaching, corrective action, and performance management
- Promote an open-door culture based on trust, respect, fairness, and communication
Requirements
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading production teams and achieving operational goals
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Effective communication skills with employees at all levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, standardized work, or waste reduction
- Ability to analyze production metrics and implement data-driven process improvements
- Commitment to safety, quality, employee development, and operational excellence
- Furniture manufacturing experience is a plus; strong manufacturing leaders with transferable experience are encouraged to apply
