Responsibilities
- Determine the most cost-effective ways to use basic factors of production to produce a product.
- Manage process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, SPC, or Six Sigma methods.
- Work with vendors, customers, and Olympic employees to design or improve systems for scheduling, capacity planning, production speed, and project equipment implementation.
Requirements
- Strong CAD/3D modeling skills required (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar programs).
- Ace or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Formal Lean training (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.) required; Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt a plus.
- 5+ years in a similar role within the manufacturing industry; steel experience strongly preferred.
- Lasers, press brakes, machining centers, plasma and welding experience preferred.
- Experience in materials control, production control, and quality control preferred.
- Create SOP and Work Instructions.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to facilitate trainings and develop documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (notably Excel) and ERP systems.
- Strong organizing, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and IATF 16949.
