About the role

This position will design, document, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance process capability and ensure product quality. It utilizes engineering, technical, problem-solving, and project management skills to improve process capability, throughput, equipment utilization, uptime, OEE, cost and scrap reduction, and reduction of GR&R’s. Ideal for recent engineering graduates or early-career engineers seeking hands-on manufacturing and process improvement experience in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates with internship, co-op, or relevant manufacturing experience who are eager to grow their engineering and continuous improvement skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering assignments involving equipment improvements and installations, product and/or process improvements, and design enhancements.
  • Assists with testing materials and implementing new materials into processes.
  • Prepares specifications, conducts process studies, and performs research investigations for existing and new products and processes, with a primary focus on existing products or processes.
  • Analyzes, develops, and recommends new or improved equipment, process modifications, and procedures to enhance machine and operator efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Conducts process capability studies and uses statistical tools to measure process performance and validate improvement results.
  • Analyzes processes for potential improvements and recommends projects to plant leadership.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated innovation and ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including scope development, design, quoting, vendor management, schedule management, installation, commissioning, and post-commissioning support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or coordinating manufacturing projects and continuous improvement.
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering/Technology. Other degrees considered with appropriate experience.

Skills

  • Preferred: SolidWorks 3D software, AutoCAD 2D software, Six Sigma/Green Belt or Black Belt with practical experience, Ansys or similar computer-aided engineering software.
