About the role

The Manufacturing Planner plays a crucial role in Gogo's Supply Chain organization, orchestrating the master production schedule to align with the broader supply chain strategy. This role requires a strong analytical background and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the 12-month rolling production plan, translating sales forecasts into a comprehensive strategy for material, capacity, and inventory.

  • Define and maintain inventory policies, including safety stock levels, reorder points, and lot sizes, to optimize the balance between material availability and working capital.

  • Partner with the Sales organization to align customer demand with production capability, strategically managing order fulfillment priorities and collaboratively developing solutions for order rescheduling or reallocation as required.

  • Proactively analyze material availability against production schedules to identify and mitigate shortage risks before they impact the production line.

  • Translate the master production schedule into actionable work orders, ensuring manufacturing teams have clear, timely direction.

  • Bridge the gap between planning and procurement by translating complex ERP-generated requirements and developing simplified tools to ensure the Purchasing team executes purchase orders with accuracy and confidence.

  • Daily cross-functional collaboration with shop floor management, logistics, and purchasing teams to align on production priorities, manage schedule changes, and escalate critical issues when necessary.

  • Serve as the supply chain lead for Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation, analyzing impacts and managing the seamless transition of parts and revisions into production.

  • Strategically plan the depletion of outgoing components and the introduction of substitutes to minimize inventory obsolescence and support engineering changes.

  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for production progress, WIP, and inventory levels to drive data-informed decisions and process improvements.

  • Own the integrity of core planning parameters within the ERP system, such as lead times, bill of materials (BOMs), and item master data, by regularly auditing data and collaborating with Engineering and Purchasing to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related analytical field (e.g., Operations Management, Finance, Mathematics) is preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing planning or supply chain management, preferably within the aviation, electronics, or other highly regulated precision manufacturing environments.

Skills

  • Expertise in an enterprise-level ERP system, with deep experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly desired.

  • Proven ability to leverage advanced data analysis tools, including expert-level Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI (e.g., Power Query, MCode, DAX, dynamic arrays, tables, and models).

  • Core manufacturing data management expertise, including the creation and maintenance of multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and the associated Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes that govern them.

  • Experience operating within a formal Quality Management System (QMS), such as ISO 9001 or AS9100A.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Gogo offers competitive benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage with plans that can fit each employee’s needs.

  • We offer an immediate vesting 401k plan, paid time off and volunteer time off.

  • Employees have the option to participate in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
