About the role
Making informed decisions to manage production schedules, aligning with project managers, production, engineering, purchasing, and inventory teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain master production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability.
- Plan and schedule material requirements to support production needs and customer delivery commitments.
- Cook up and expedite material flow between suppliers, warehouses, and production areas.
- Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in demand, capacity constraints, or material shortages.
- Optimize inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
- Analyze MRP/ERP data to identify and resolve planning discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
- Drive process improvements in planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Prepare and present planning metrics and reports to leadership.
- Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through efficient planning and resource utilization.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve workflow.
- Maintain accurate planning data in ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing scheduling, production planning, or operations coordination preferred.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment required.
- ERP/MRP system experience preferred (Epicor experience strongly preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with BOM structures, production workflows, and material planning.
- Electrical equipment manufacturing, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments preferred.
