Manufacturing Operator

About the role
We are seeking an Extruder Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be trained to efficiently and safely operate at least one extruder during the extrusion process. The Extruder Operator will ensure the proper set-up of machinery and related equipment, coordinate with assigned utility employees, and monitor and correct any equipment or material issues during production.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extruder, die, takeoff unit, and auxiliary equipment according to production orders and/or Master Specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of utility employees assigned to the production line.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and material defects as they arise.
- Continuously inspect the sheet and extrusion process to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Complete production and quality reports, ensuring all documentation is filled out accurately.
- Collect and test quality samples as required, identifying any issues promptly.
- Verify the accuracy of finished goods packaging.
- Follow all operational and quality standards, and maintain a commitment to safety and quality.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and contamination-free work environment.
- Adept at handling additional tasks as assigned.
- Regularly engage in physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling materials, including rolls weighing up to 250 pounds.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attendance and excellent safety record.
- Comfort with wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, and safety shoes.
Work schedule
Monday to Thursday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM – enjoy a 4-day work week!
