Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and analyze operational and production data including throughput, downtime, labor utilization, scrap, schedule adherence, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support plant operations initiatives including continuous improvement projects, production tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Observe and document manufacturing and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Aid in the development and maintenance of operational procedures, standardized work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Support production planning, workflow coordination, and plant performance initiatives.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities related to production inefficiencies, delays, or operational challenges.
  • Aid in the implementation and tracking of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Support plant manager and operations leadership with special projects and operational priorities.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs, presentations, and reports to support operational analysis and decision-making.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and operational reviews.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for assigned operational projects and tasks.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze operational improvements and process enhancements.

Required Skills

  • Computer skills must include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and interact with multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment.
  • Demands of a manufacturing environment.

Required Education

  • Actively enrolled as a student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
