Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician II
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Plant Manager
Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00 (Actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support management in creating all safety procedures and documentation.
  • Lead Production Team in all Newterra Safety Trainings.
  • Identify and communicate any safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Communicate any parts needs through proper channels.
  • Interpret all Production Reference Materials and identify discrepancies including any errors or needed materials.
  • Become proficient in all production tasks (i.e. electrical wiring, metal and PVC plumbing, fabrication, subassembly, assembly, and analysis), always maintaining Newterra quality standards.
  • Keep personal workspace clean and organized.
  • Oversee and participate in shop housekeeping.
  • Participate in Inventory Assessments.
  • Learn new soft/hard skills and improve known skills.
  • Adhere to all Newterra efficiency and quality standards and procedures.
  • Identify shop needs for tools and safety equipment.
  • Manage shop inventory of tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Offer ideas to improve shop flow, efficiencies, or morale.
  • Be a positive role model for other Newterra Production employees.
  • Be available to offer expertise and knowledge to other Newterra employees.
  • Record keeping of performance indicators and other Newterra documentation processes.
  • Utilize Newterra computer systems to maintain shop documentation and reference materials needs.
  • Maintain ongoing education of ozone and the in-situ process and practices.
  • Create two goals, biannually, and plan a course of action to achieve those goals.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance Newterra’s internal quality standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
  • Any other duties that are created for the Manufacturing Technician position during employment with Newterra.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate must have mechanical or manufacturing experience and knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
  • Previous Forklift experience.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to consistently produce quality work within budget and on schedule.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule.
  • Valid CA Driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Computer literate in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong communication skills, Good troubleshooting skills, Ability to follow directions and work in a team as well as in an individual environment.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to use both hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, stand for long periods of time and repeat the same motions.
  • Must also be able to push, pull and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently work outdoors.
  • This is a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to elements such as loud noise, hazardous equipment, heat, dirt, dust, fumes, and other hazardous materials.
  • Frequently exposed to distracting and uncomfortable noise levels from machinery.
  • May be exposed to hazardous situations when working with large metal parts and cutting tools.
  • Company safety standards must be always followed.
