Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Technician II
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Plant Manager
Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00 (Actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience)
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support management in creating all safety procedures and documentation.
- Lead Production Team in all Newterra Safety Trainings.
- Identify and communicate any safety hazards in the workplace.
- Communicate any parts needs through proper channels.
- Interpret all Production Reference Materials and identify discrepancies including any errors or needed materials.
- Become proficient in all production tasks (i.e. electrical wiring, metal and PVC plumbing, fabrication, subassembly, assembly, and analysis), always maintaining Newterra quality standards.
- Keep personal workspace clean and organized.
- Oversee and participate in shop housekeeping.
- Participate in Inventory Assessments.
- Learn new soft/hard skills and improve known skills.
- Adhere to all Newterra efficiency and quality standards and procedures.
- Identify shop needs for tools and safety equipment.
- Manage shop inventory of tools and personal protective equipment.
- Offer ideas to improve shop flow, efficiencies, or morale.
- Be a positive role model for other Newterra Production employees.
- Be available to offer expertise and knowledge to other Newterra employees.
- Record keeping of performance indicators and other Newterra documentation processes.
- Utilize Newterra computer systems to maintain shop documentation and reference materials needs.
- Maintain ongoing education of ozone and the in-situ process and practices.
- Create two goals, biannually, and plan a course of action to achieve those goals.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance Newterra’s internal quality standards.
- Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
- Any other duties that are created for the Manufacturing Technician position during employment with Newterra.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must have mechanical or manufacturing experience and knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Previous Forklift experience.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Ability to consistently produce quality work within budget and on schedule.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule.
- Valid CA Driver license with a clean driving record.
- Computer literate in MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong communication skills, Good troubleshooting skills, Ability to follow directions and work in a team as well as in an individual environment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to use both hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, stand for long periods of time and repeat the same motions.
- Must also be able to push, pull and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently work outdoors.
- This is a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to elements such as loud noise, hazardous equipment, heat, dirt, dust, fumes, and other hazardous materials.
- Frequently exposed to distracting and uncomfortable noise levels from machinery.
- May be exposed to hazardous situations when working with large metal parts and cutting tools.
- Company safety standards must be always followed.
