Location: Clackamas, Oregon
Pay Rate: USD $36.97/hr
Schedule: 10:00 PM to 06:30 AM PST, Monday–Friday (must be open to at least one weekend day and overtime)

About the role

  • Ensure the operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and complete preventative maintenance.
  • This is a temporary assignment with the possibility of extension and conversion to full-time employment; full-time hires must join the onsite union.
  • Candidate must be eligible for indefinite-duration employment without limited work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, and maintain good housekeeping, GMP, and Global Food Safety practices.
  • Identify complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems on equipment such as conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, and robots; develop and implement solutions.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, and determine corrective actions.
  • Dismantle and reassemble machines to replace or fit necessary parts.
  • Understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on schedules.
  • Perform routine maintenance and determine when additional maintenance is needed.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and complete maintenance reports as required.
  • Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Work with vendors and/or contractors as needed.
  • Order spare parts or services as required.
  • Implement operational improvements (e.g., reducing spoilage, downtime, increasing line speeds).
  • Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain organization of spare parts and a clean, organized work area.
  • Complete work orders, logs, and records.
  • Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Perform welding on mild and stainless steel, rebuild/fabricate equipment, and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrical (LME) License preferred.
  • OSHA 10 and/or CPR certification is a plus.
