About the role
As a Manufacturing Lead Technician, you will oversee the entire production process for a set of products. You plan, organize, and recommend strategies to ensure that the product is produced successfully and in accordance with all specifications.
Responsibilities
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Provide product expertise within the team and respond to operator queries
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Resolve production problems
- Train employees
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards and behaviors expected
- Facilitate team participation
- Enforce company policies and guidelines
- Contact appropriate sources for repair issues
- Receive complaints and resolve problems
- Evaluate the condition of production equipment
- Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities
- Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience with product or relevant role
- Strategic planning skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
- Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
