About the role

The Manufacturing Lead is pivotal in our manufacturing plant, overseeing daily operations to ensure production schedules are met efficiently and according to quality standards. This dynamic leadership role coordinates team activities, manages resources, and troubleshoots production issues to maintain smooth workflow. The Manufacturing Lead bridges the production floor and management, ensuring clear communication and successful objective achievement while contributing to continuous improvement strategies for enhanced productivity and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations, ensuring schedules and quality standards are met.
• Mentor and train manufacturing staff on best practices and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with supply chain, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely issue resolution.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor equipment and machinery for malfunctions, arranging maintenance or repairs to minimize downtime.
• Enforce compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, including health and safety measures.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and adjust processes or resources to meet production targets.
• Lead emergency response efforts within the manufacturing area, including executing evacuation plans and incident reporting.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Value diversity in people and ideas.
• Perform other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

This role does not include supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., vocational training).
• 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience in medical industries, molding, printed circuit boards, or electronics businesses.
• Experience with formal training in a production environment.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (certification is a plus).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Managerial courage to proactively address issues and conflicts.
• Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
• Analytical skills to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
• Decision-making skills to maintain production schedules.
• Task prioritization, schedule management, and timely order completion.
• Resource organization to enhance productivity.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (conversational in another language is a plus).
• Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Physical Demands

• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and communicate verbally.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms while standing and walking.
• Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

A manufacturing plant setting with potential exposure to noise, temperature variations, chemicals, heat, dust, or other hazards. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may include:

• ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
• Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
• Hearing protection in specific locations.
• Compliance with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) in specific areas.
