Key Responsibilities
- Safety: Be a leader in identification, design and implementation of ergonomic workstation solutions to support safety regulations promoting worker health on the manufacturing floor.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all process improvements meet quality standards while also contributing to an improvement in product quality for the customer.
- Process Improvement: Apply best in class benchmarks to analyze current manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing principles such as CI, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, and 5S methodologies to streamline operations, minimize waste, and improve production flow.
- Capacity Planning: Work with sales teams to forecast production needs and optimize resource allocation (manpower, materials, machinery) to meet production targets.
- Workplace Optimization: Through continuous improvement events, design ergonomic and efficient workstations, to eliminate waste while improving throughput.
- Cost Reduction: Evaluate materials, labor, and overhead costs to find opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, measure performance, and provide recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects aimed at process improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
- Time Studies: Conduct time and motion studies to develop standard operating procedures and establish labor standards.
- Automation Integration: Identify opportunities to incorporate automation and advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce manual labor.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.
- Experience with CAD software and facility layout planning is a plus.
