Responsibilities
- Support the installation and configuration of DC tooling and controllers for Production and Repair Carts.
- Review torque traces and apply fastening and programming terminology to evaluate tool performance and process integrity.
- Manage and document all programming changes in DC tool controllers for both Production and Repair Carts.
- Establish and maintain effective angle monitoring limits to detect potential quality issues and prevent defects.
- Review results from Repair Carts and compare them against error proofing reports to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
- Run fault reports, analyze data, and review the highest hitters impacting Production performance and quality.
- Identify manufacturing-related issues and drive effective resolution through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Prepare, present, and lead technical presentations for management during Daily Launch Meetings.
- Support requests for information related to torque tools, DC tool programming, torque traces, and cycle data.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to implement and sustain quality standards in fastening processes.
- Export and import data between systems to support analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Fastening engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing facility.
- Project management experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with torque tools and torque specifications, including setup, adjustment, and verification.
- Experience utilizing data analysis to identify issues and solve problems in manufacturing processes.
- Experience exporting and importing data between systems to support process monitoring and reporting.
- Experience providing direct engineering support in a production environment.
- Experience implementing and maintaining quality standards within manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of fastening and programming terminology related to DC tooling and controllers.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Atlas Copco, Stanley, and similar DC torque tools and systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as ToolsNet or comparable systems for monitoring torque and fastening data.
- Mechanical or engineering with exposure to automotive manufacturing processes.
- Ability to prepare and deliver clear technical presentations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
