Manufacturing Equipment Repair Technician
About the role
As an Equipment Repair Technician at onsemi’s premier 200mm manufacturing facility, you will work in a dynamic team environment performing the repair, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Each day you will troubleshoot a diversity of electronic instruments, subassemblies, robots, controllers, and supplies alongside a world-class team.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of defective electronic and electromechanical equipment to the component level.
- Perform routine maintenance on semiconductor equipment such as probers, probe cards, load port interfaces, and automated vehicles.
- Source replacement components for repair or upgrade.
- Develop test methods and hardware interfaces to exercise and test equipment under repair.
- Define and write preventative maintenance best-known methods (BKM’s) and other maintenance procedures.
- Consult with fab maintenance personnel to resolve challenging fab tool failures.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, or similar field.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot and repair electronic circuitry without the use of schematics or other documentation.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electromechanical assemblies without the use of repair manuals or other documentation.
- Ability to read, understand, and utilize schematics and other technician documents.
- Skill in soldering and the use of repair tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic and mechanical devices.
- Physical ability and strength to work in awkward positions or tight spaces, including lifting 40+ pounds.
- Good interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
