About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports manufacturing activities by assisting with CNC machining, process improvements, work instruction development, and manufacturing system implementation.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.
- Participate in Process Change Requests (PCR) from documentation to implementation.
- Support new product launches, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform CNC setup, tooling changes, and process adjustments.
- Review inspection results, troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
- Develop and maintain production standards, collaborate across departments to improve processes and quality.
- Support equipment installation, startup, and validation activities.
- Train employees on new equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Evaluate manufacturing layouts, workflows, and tooling for efficiency.
- Use CAD software like SolidWorks for tooling and documentation.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including IATF 16949:2016.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of machining experience with CNC setup and programming.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, blueprint reading, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD software, ERP/MES systems, and quality inspection data interpretation.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and quality management systems is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and physical ability to perform manufacturing tasks.
Work Environment
- Work involves both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at a computer and on the shop floor.
