Manufacturing Engineering Technician
About the role
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring associates have the necessary resources, direction, and knowledge to execute their tasks effectively. They will also contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, equipment, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, track, and report on key performance metrics and lead problem solving efforts related to product, process, or equipment issues.
- Investigate and create rework plans for discrepant products and direct corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training to Production Associates.
- Determine tooling needs for production and lead tooling improvement efforts.
- Create Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) for needed equipment replacements.
- Support the introduction of new products by participating in activities such as cost estimates, tooling design, prototyping, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Participate in Kaizen events as a sub-team leader or subject matter expert.
Requirements
- 7 years’ minimum experience in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a small team or work independently with little to no oversight.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
- Absorbed Associate degree or equivalent technical training.
- 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician.
- Process experience in a minimum of 5 of the major cell-level processes used in the production of electric motor components.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert or trainer in at least one manufacturing process.
- Experience with a minimum of 3 of the ABS tools.
- Experience working in a Lean Production environment and using 3 or more of the following tools: 6-sigma, single piece flow, variation reduction, standard work, value stream mapping, 5S.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will spend more than half of their time on the production floor and the remainder in an office environment.
