Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing manufacturing processes and implementing solutions that improve efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery
- Partner with production, quality, sales, and engineering teams to support complex aerospace and defense manufacturing programs
- Develop, improve, and validate manufacturing processes using sound engineering principles, statistical analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
- Lead and support improvement projects, managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables using project‑management tools
- Evaluate process performance using data and statistical methods to identify variation, risk, and opportunities for optimization
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including routings, work instructions, sketches, and process changes
- Design complex routings and manufacturing sketches that meet customer specifications and internal standards
- Support production and quality teams by dispositioning nonconforming product and determining rework or corrective actions
- Communicate project status and recommendations clearly to leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders
- Document technical decisions and process changes with accuracy and clarity
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- Experience with 3D modeling (SolidWorks or similar software)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies with the ability to apply statistical techniques in a manufacturing environment
Bonus points
- Experience in sheet‑metal forming, CNC machining, fusion/resistance welding, heat treating/brazing, or 5‑axis laser cutting
- Experience working with an ERP system, preferably Epicor
