About the role
Re:Build Fikst is a dynamic product development and engineering consulting firm within Re:Build Manufacturing. We are seeking creative problem solvers and hands-on craftspeople to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Architect Production Lines: Design tactical layouts, station flows, and line balances for custom assembly cells, and assist with kitting strategies and assembly procedures.
- Equipment Sourcing & Specification: Source and deploy specialized line equipment such as heat sealers, and vet and purchase necessary components.
- Design Custom Tooling & Fixturing: Model custom tooling and fixturing in SolidWorks, fabricate prototypes, and balance quality with rapid manufacturing line launches.
- In-House Fabrication: Utilize Fikst's rapid prototyping resources and machine shop assets to fabricate custom tooling variants.
- Process Refinement & Validation: Establish and run baseline process tests to fine-tune production equipment and validate manufacturing parameters.
- Cross-Functional Player-Coach: Work alongside project engineers, line technicians, and external vendors to design for manufacturing and assembly, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct structured root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate manufacturing processes to enhance quality, throughput, ergonomics, yield, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 3-5+ years of industry experience in custom machinery integration, product launch, line deployment, or initial pilot production settings.
- Proficient in creating, editing, and reading 2D production drawings, and knowledge of GD&T is desirable.
- Proficient in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and structured drawing practices for custom fixturing.
- Practical, hands-on familiarity with physical shop environments, including manual or basic CNC equipment, 3D printing, and rapid tooling options.
- Experience in capital equipment validation, material selection compatibility, and line debugging.
- Background in precision assembly parameters, high-mix environments, or working under standard quality frameworks (ISO-13485 eQMS).

- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to ambiguous project spaces, testing new boundary conditions, and adjusting plans as needed.

Benefits
Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $88,000 - $132,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive compensation (LTIP), in addition to a competitive benefits package.
