Position Summary
Electroswitch is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing and assembly processes, develop tooling and fixtures, and lead process-improvement projects at our Weymouth facility.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing manufacturing and assembly processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, quality concerns, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner closely with production employees and leadership to improve workflow, throughput, safety, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Lead manufacturing and process-improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation and follow-up.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, workholding devices, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to reduce waste, improve process capability, and support continuous improvement.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, line-balancing activities, and equipment or floor-layout evaluations.
- Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing procedures, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and related documentation.
- Support production personnel in the day-to-day execution of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing activities.
- Investigate production problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective or preventive actions.
- Support PFMEA, process-capability reviews, SPC activities, continuous-improvement studies, and design-of-experiment activities as needed.
- Participate in Kaizen events and the implementation of 5S, visual manufacturing, flow-line, and other Lean practices.
- Support new-product development and provide design-for-manufacturability recommendations.
- Assist with manufacturing cost estimates, tooling estimates, capital requests, and equipment procurement.
- Help ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment comply with applicable quality and safety requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
