About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define manufacturing processes for composites fabrication, inspection, trimming, and assembly.
- Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
- Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
- Define and support repair and rework activities.
- Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
- Craft accurate material handling and packaging to protect hardware.
- Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree.
- Prioritize hardware procurement and fabrication and communicate these priorities to the team.
- Extreme customer focus combined with strong verbal and written communication.
Requirements
- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar: (3+ Level II Engineer, 5+ Level III Engineer, 8+ Sr Level Engineer).
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Ability to manage a manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM), author work instructions, and disposition non-conforming material on the production floor.

- Ability to develop processes to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
Qualifications
- With aircraft, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellite development, production, or operations.
- Experience with tooling design, fabrication, and procurement.
- Self-directed and able to balance several tasks at once.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E & CATIA preferred).
