About the role
This role is critical in scaling up an existing R&D process developed at our California site and transitioning it to full-scale production at our Indianapolis site. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Capability Acquisition, Automation, and Digital Engineering to enable robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the existing R&D process developed at our HTC site.
- Serve as the process owner during the industrialization phase, ensuring the core principles and quality of the original process are maintained during scale-up.
- Collaborate with the Capability Acquisition, Automation, and Digital teams to develop and implement scalable manufacturing solutions.
- Support process optimization, documentation, and validation to ensure repeatability, efficiency, and quality.
- Drive improvements in manufacturing throughput, cost, and reliability.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with scaling.
- Drive improvements in manufacturing throughput, cost, and reliability.
- Work cross-functionally to integrate automation and digital tools into the production process.
- Maintain a self-directed approach to problem-solving and project execution with minimal supervision.
- Act as a liaison between the R&D and production teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer and alignment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with 4+ years of engineering experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of engineering experience, OR Master's degree, OR JD/PhD OR In lieu of a degree 6+ years of engineering experience.

- Preferred Experience with the machining of Ceramic Matrix Composite Components or Aerospace Components with coating operations.
- Experience with quality and validation requirements including PFMEA, MVA, FAIR, APQP, and PPAP.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification with completed projects.
- Experience with Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
- Experience supporting or coordinating the implementation of automated processes, such as working with automation Engineers or operations teams.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of process capability analysis, including the ability to calculate and interpret key metrics such as Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk.
- Proficiency in using statistical tools to assess process performance against specification limits and identify variations.
Qualifications

$98,566 - $160,169 Annually
