Manufacturing Engineer - Lincoln, NH

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer is a leadership role responsible for supporting manufacturing processes and optimizing production efficiency. This position involves assisting in the design and improvement of manufacturing processing, troubleshooting complex production issues, and contributing to process optimization. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining safe, cost effective, and lean manufacturing processes to help service our customers. This role also supports the shop by eliminating production problems and reducing defects.

Responsibilities

• Writing specifications
• Working with vendors on capital improvement projects
• Designing tooling/fixturing
• Analyzing data
• Participating in Lean initiatives
• Designing/implementing cell layouts
• Maintaining BOM's/Routes
• Supporting the manufacturing department by providing assistance for process, equipment, tooling and design related issues
• Developing new products in coordination with the central design and marketing departments
• Implementing capital projects in support of the facility objectives
• Evaluating, developing, proposing and implementing projects to ensure the facility is meeting the current and future needs of the company
• Ensuring the safety of our workforce by understanding, believing and supporting the concept of safety being the number one priority by such methods as considering ergonomics and other safety factors when developing or updating processes, workstations, etc.
• Maintaining the product engineering database which includes: bills of materials, product routings cost files, etc.
• Resolving problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts
• Implementing activities to design new processes, modify existing designs, improve production techniques and develop test procedures
• Analyzing technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects
• Conferring with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products
• Advising management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations
• Maintaining a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly
• Maintaining and practicing a thorough knowledge of safety policies, procedures and regulations
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (General, Mechanical, or Electrical), or related field (required)
• 1-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience (required)
• Time Study and labor standards experience (required)

Qualifications

• Experience with automation applications and implementation (a plus)
• SAP experience (desired)
• Facility layout optimization experience (desired)

Skills

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision, technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Hands on, driven, analytical, results-oriented, customer-centric, self-starter with strong change management skills and mechanical aptitude that enjoys leading diverse teams
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and projects over a wide range of priorities
• Able to work with all levels of operational and professional staff
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in computer operation (AutoCAD and/or Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
