MANUFACTURING ENGINEER III (ELECTRICAL)

About the role

This position requires a strong background in manufacturing with a focus on electrical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. The role involves supporting the production of electromechanical/electronic equipment for airborne and land-based applications, ensuring compliance with specifications and engineering documents.

Responsibilities

• Support production of electromechanical/electronic equipment (airborne and land-based) and ensure products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
• Test and troubleshoot analog and digital electronics down to the component level.
• Review Test Requirement specifications and write test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Establish methods of test and equipment required to accomplish them.
• Document test results and test progress reports.
• Perform failure analysis and write reports including corrective action.
• Assess assembly and test processes, perform time studies, and recommend lean practices to improve processes.
• Provide feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing.
• Break down customer engineering requirements per drawing to create manufacturing planning, bills of material (BOM).
• Liaise with manufacturing personnel to improve processes and troubleshoot assembly problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and testing of electromechanical assemblies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to work on a variety of electromechanical/electronic assemblies (wire harnesses, PCBs, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of both analog and digital theory.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, and power supplies.
• Working knowledge of ERP System (SAP preferred).
• Strong process management, process improvement, problem-solving, and cost-reduction skills.
• Knowledge in design of jigs and tooling for electrical applications used in assembly.
• Ability to perform basic measurement and inspection processes.
• Experience in creation of Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
• Experience with MIL-STD documents and interpretation of ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to write engineering reports that include analysis and results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products.
