Position Summary

Mechanical Engineer III is responsible for designing, implementing, validating, and continuously improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production equipment across one or more facilities. This role supports complex manufacturing and assembly for new and existing Parker products by leading continuous improvement efforts and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning and design of complex, high-impact manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing products. Defines required equipment, tooling, and process controls to meet production targets and product/quality specifications.

  • Identifies, scopes, and executes process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, safety, delivery, and cost. Facilitates and leads cross-functional teams on large-scope continuous improvement projects.

  • Partners with engineering leadership to influence product and process designs, recommending manufacturable concepts and requirements that best leverage available equipment and manufacturing methods.

  • Ensures processes, documentation, and procedures comply with applicable internal requirements and external regulations across multiple production lines.

  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to address quality issues and restore/maintain product conformance.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or a related Engineering discipline with 5–8 years of relevant experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles with the ability to apply them across multiple production lines.

  • Demonstrated ability to use a structured, data-driven approach to solve complex problems and drive sustainable results.

  • Proven experience applying continuous improvement methodologies in manufacturing/quality (e.g., pull systems, value stream/process mapping, JIT).

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred; familiarity with DMAIC and advanced problem-solving skills preferred.

  • Knowledge of data structures and database programming preferred.

  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM or other computer-aided manufacturing systems, plus standard business software and specialized data and statistical analysis software.

  • Ability to develop and standardize procedures/work instructions to address gaps and prevent recurrence.

  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and draw sound conclusions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills.

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.

  • Experience with electronic circuit design and troubleshooting preferred.
