About the role
This experienced team member will spearhead operational and process excellence throughout the production environment. Their role includes business case development and execution of capital procurement and installation. They will develop and implement standard operating procedures and processes, and their hands-on role will keep safety, quality, and productivity at the forefront. One of their core responsibilities will be to implement new equipment and production lines for all locations, paving the way for growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Delivers increased process efficiencies and business capabilities and lowers production costs through capital equipment purchases and process improvements.
- Implements new equipment work instructions, standard work, preventive maintenance, and production team member training.
- Develops and manages purchased equipment manufacturing standards and performance expectations.
- Collaborates with maintenance in developing and validating effective preventive maintenance procedures for equipment.
- Design and develop optimal work-cell and facility layouts with cross-functional support.
- Ensures capital purchases are aligned with capacity projections and company vision through collaboration with plant management and planning teams.
- Develop scope of work and equipment specification for the RFQ process.
- Investigate vendor sources to support the expansion of manufacturing processes and the commercialization of new products.
- Works directly with product development to determine appropriate processes to commercialize new products from concept to full-scale production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally for continuous improvement projects.
- Design components and equipment in Solidworks to support production.
- Gathers and analyzes data to drive improved equipment and overall process uptime.
- Promotes continuous improvement and lean culture throughout the facility with Team Members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S) in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing Systems) required.
- 5-10 years experience in roles optimizing process and equipment performance and team member training required.
- Relevant experience analyzing operational capacity vs. planned production and implementing equipment installations for efficiency, required.
- Understanding and application of Statistical Process Control.
- Experience within the food, pharmaceutical, chemical industries, or GMP environment preferred.
