Manufacturing Engineer I

For more than 70 years, SSW has partnered with leading global appliance manufacturers to design and produce innovative components and systems used in residential appliances, commercial refrigeration, HVAC equipment, retail displays, and organizational products around the world.

We are looking for two high-potential, early-career engineers who are eager to learn, solve problems, and grow their careers in manufacturing. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited professional experience who want hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, equipment, tooling, and continuous improvement.

Reports to: General Manager
Location: Henderson, TN (Onsite)

What You'll Do

• Assist with manufacturing equipment setup and process implementation.
• Support production startups, changeovers, and process validation activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help identify root causes.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and recommend improvements.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
• Develop standard work instructions and process documentation.
• Support quality, safety, and productivity initiatives across the facility.
• Support tooling and fixture design projects.
• Assist with tooling modifications and improvements.
• Create and update engineering drawings and documentation.
• Work with production personnel to identify tooling-related opportunities.
• Participate in process development and manufacturing optimization projects.
• Support implementation of new tooling and equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing and tooling challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Or a related engineering discipline
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

• Internship, co-op, or hands-on manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Exposure to CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS or similar platforms (preferred)
• Coursework or projects involving:
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Tooling and fixture design
  • Automation
  • Mechanical systems
  • Continuous improvement
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred)

No extensive professional experience is required. We welcome recent graduates and early-career engineers who demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn.
