About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer I is responsible for applying their education, experience, and expertise in the launch of new product designs into manufacturing, making process improvements, and solving manufacturing problems while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and forms.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes teamwork, cooperation, and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.
  • Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures, and test protocols.
  • Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
  • Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support of existing products.
  • Develops and designs basic tools and fixtures, researches, and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures.
  • Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
  • Provides technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • May travel up to 5% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows, or conferences.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Supports, demonstrates, and promotes PCB’s guiding principle of Total Customer Satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ceramic Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • Internship, Co-Op, or equivalent industry project experience.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident/green card is required due to compliance with U.S. Export Control laws (ITAR).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly for ceramics and/or hermetic connectors (preferred).
