Position Summary Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with extensive machine shop experience who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, developing production methods, and accurately estimating machining and fabrication work. The primary focus of this role is creating accurate cost estimates, developing manufacturing drawings, and supporting production with engineering expertise. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and the shop floor by applying practical machining knowledge to every project. Primary Responsibilities Prepare accurate cost estimates for machining, fabrication, gear manufacturing, and repair projects. Review customer drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements. Create and revise detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software. Develop routings, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes. Determine machining times, tooling requirements, and material usage. Work closely with machinists and production personnel to optimize manufacturing methods. Support quoting by identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve manufacturability. Assist sales with technical questions and customer inquiries. Create inspection documentation and manufacturing work instructions. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and throughput. Qualifications Required 5+ years of machine shop or manufacturing engineering experience. Strong understanding of CNC machining, manual machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings. Experience estimating machining labor, materials, tooling, and outside services. Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar). Strong knowledge of GD&T and machining tolerances. Excellent math and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications. Preferred Experience with gear manufacturing or gear repair. Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of welding, heat treating, and industrial power transmission equipment.
