Responsibilities
- Analyze current machining processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement process enhancements to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across shop operations
- Partner with quality teams to ensure processes meet print specifications and customer requirements
- Support efforts to maintain and improve product quality standards
- Collaborate with maintenance and production to ensure optimal machine performance
- Recommend and implement equipment upgrades or replacements
- Create and support automation initiatives to improve safety and efficiency
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to process performance and improvements
- Ensure documentation aligns with operational and quality standards
- Train operators and staff on new processes, technologies, and best practices
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Work closely with production, quoting, and quality teams to optimize processes
- Support alignment across departments to ensure efficient operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (preferred)
- Experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and engineering tools
- Knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, and tooling
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions
- Leadership and influence without direct authority
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
