Position Summary
This position is for a multi-disciplined Engineer, capable of solving design and manufacturing problems and providing innovative solutions for electro-mechanical assemblies. You will be the liaison between the design engineers and the manufacturing teams both internal and at contract manufacturers and will be responsible for working with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify root cause of reported issues including supporting investigation, analysis, and help prioritize corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Work with in-house manufacturing and contract manufacturing and customer service personnel to determine the context of reported issues and other supporting details
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing assembly processes, field performance data and quality assurance test reports
- Create and maintain a database of issues to identify trends, track the effectiveness of updates, and provide metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the sustainability process
- Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, procedures, and standards for internal and external contract manufacturers
- Collaborate with supply chain and contract manufacturers to identify lifetime issues of electronic components, research substitutions and/or replacements, present to design team for review, and coordinate ECO implementation across manufacturing process
- Troubleshoot hardware production issues down to circuit board and component levels
- Lead the transition to production of new products
- Contribute to the development of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures
Requirements
- CAPABILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS: Direct experience with electronical / mechanical sustainment activities such as failure analysis and resolution and obsolete components Quality Management System (QMS) experience Experience with electro-mechanical and electrical assembles in the automation environment. BSEE or BSME with 5 years’ experience Basic proficiency with PCs in a Windows environment including Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and with engineering, manufacturing, quality groups, and customers Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
Preferred Skills
- Working familiarity with Linux and related tools.
- Performing analog and digital circuit analysis including characterization, modeling and simulation of electrical signals in electronics subsystems.
- Identifying and implement circuit and subassembly design updates.
- Familiar with ISO standards.
