Key Duties For This Position Include
- Serve as subject matter expert across vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, ECS, etc.)
- Work in parallel with design engineering, quality engineering, supply chain organizations, environmental safety & health and production operations
- Provide producibility review inputs to shape engineering requirements towards a more efficient build process
- Create 3D manufacturing simulations to drive efficiency throughout the build of our product, perform clash detections, sequence assembly tasks for the lifecycle of the program
- Review critical designs and provide design for manufacturability feedback of all 3D engineering models to reduce cost and positively impact performance at suppliers across the country
Required Skills
- 8+ years' experience supporting aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, engines, testing) in a production environment
- 8+ years' experience with production operations and/or engineering
- 8+ years' experience providing design engineering with producibility inputs to shape build strategy
- 5+ Years CAD experience (CATIA V4/5, 3DX experience preferred)
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position supporting program start-ups, assembly, and production processes
Desired Skills
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Project management experience
- Atlassian Confluence and JIRA experience
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills in vehicle systems manufacturing and test
- Experience Root Cause and Corrective Action, and FMEA
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changes
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, manufacturing planning, & develop work instructions
- Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical people
- Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plans
- Active DoD Clearance with an Investigation within the last 5 years AND the ability to obtain and maintain special program access per business requirements.
