About the role
PBS Aerospace is a rapidly growing designer and manufacturer of world-class small turbojet engines. These engines provide superior power-to-weight ratios with low fuel consumption, making them the preferred choice for the most advanced US Department of Defense drone, interceptor, and missile systems.
Overview and Key Responsibilities
- Support PBS Aerospace’s strategic growth initiatives in close cooperation with members of Design Engineering, Operations, and other PBS Aerospace Divisions.
- Play a pivotal role in advancing PBS Aerospace’s position in the small turbine engine marketplace by improving efficiencies and solving problems to increase production throughput.
- Lead detailed project scopes for multiple products, to support aggressive timelines and production volume.
- Develop, and qualify detailed assembly work instructions, to a consistent standard; continuous improvement of instructions that are in place.
- Support tracking key production metrics such as takt time, cycle time, yield, etc.
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management, etc.) to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove variability from complex processes.
- Work in close collaboration with Technicians, and other members of the Engineering team to improve training, understanding, and reduce non-conformities.

Hands-On Manufacturing Experience
- Own Manufacturing Design scopes from ideation through execution and validation ex. tooling fixtures to improve accuracy and/or repeatability.
- Work directly on the production floor, supporting engine assembly, fluid systems flow testing, full engine acceptance testing, and equipment operation and maintenance needs.
High Cross-Functional Exposure
- Lead root cause analyses coordinating and informing teams and stakeholders across Design, Production, Quality, etc.
- Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then implement in a rapidly evolving production environment.
- Partner with Quality counterparts on PFMEAs, control plans, inspection, and compliance.
What You Need to Succeed
