About the role
Munro Defense is an engineering and manufacturing consulting firm serving the defense sectors. We specialize in design and manufacturing optimization, cost reduction, and facility performance improvement. We partner with clients to solve complex product and facilities challenges, optimize operations, and support the lifecycle management of critical infrastructure and real property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical data packages and requirements, translating them into manufacturing or assembly process requirements.
- Aid in the planning, design, and launch of manufacturing processes.
- Apply lean principles to existing product design and manufacturing processes by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
- Recommend capital equipment to achieve manufacturing goals based on product specifications.
- Develop both technical and financial business cases for the down-selection of competing manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Maintain a direct interface with customers to ensure project success.
- Work cooperatively within an integrated team to deliver exceptional results.
- Execute manufacturing systems simulation, including material flow and facility layout.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience required, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Possess strong knowledge of product development in manufacturing, production process, and equipment or machinery.
- Quality experience is a plus.
- Experience in robotics, high speed automation, tooling, molding, and fixtures is preferred.
- Experience using ProPlanner and FlexSim software package for manufacturing simulations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Local and overnight travel to company or customer facilities is required.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder and can obtain a Secret Clearance.
