Key Responsibilities
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation
- Provide daily engineering support to production teams
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support process capability studies, equipment validation, and cycle time improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to launch new products
- Assist in process design, tooling development, and manufacturing feasibility assessments
- Support PPAPs, first article inspections, and production trials
- Ensure smooth product launches with minimal disruption
- Utilize IQMS or similar ERP systems to manage production data, BOMs, routings, and inventory accuracy
- Maintain and improve ERP/MES data integrity
- Generate reports and analyze KPIs to support decision-making
- Support system enhancements and integration with manufacturing processes
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support plant initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Afford assistance with capital projects including equipment specification, installation, and validation
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Familiarity with IQMS or similar ERP systems
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work directly on the shop floor
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rubber, urethane, or related manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
- Knowledge of material science and regulatory/compliance standards
- Experience with statistical analysis and process control tools
