Kelly Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a direct hire position with an industry leader experiencing dynamic growth in the Columbus, OH area.
About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide hands-on support and improvement of manufacturing processes. This role focuses on documenting, implementing, and maintaining efficient procedures while driving safety, quality, cost efficiency, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to all manufacturing departments regarding the quality and/or performance of machinery, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
- Identify and implement manufacturing process changes in support of the plant’s continuous improvement and productivity improvement objectives.
- Review project work from maintenance, automation/autoload technicians, and external contractors.
- Perform root cause analyses to determine causes of line defects and engage the appropriate organization to drive improvement in line yields.
- Support and execute Lean Manufacturing efforts, including developing SOPs, TWI, and standard work for machine and process controls, RIE actions, and 5S methodologies.
- Manage and maintain site drawings, including plant layouts, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated lean problem-solving ability and continuous improvement implementations.
