About the role
Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design processes that ensure compliance with MESH (Eaton’s Environmental, Health, Safety process) and other Eaton and industry standard practices
- Drive facility capability and capacity improvement through Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and other processes to support efficiency improvement and sales growth
- Support and execute capital plan to support capability, capacity, and efficiency to develop new key plant processes in support of sales growth and product line expansion
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and requirements, estimating future requirements
- Work directly with direct manufacturing labor to troubleshoot and improve processes, including fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing of products produced
- Manage activities and budgets for manufacturing and process improvement projects, including the development of the project management requirements and all implementation documentation
- Develop and implementing cost reduction initiatives utilizing continuous improvement framework
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics to aid in design and improvement of processes
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities by following established MESH policies, procedures, trainings, and team member involvement activities
- Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, corrective action implementation and Zero Incident culture enforcement
- Manage the creation of standard work and standard cycle times
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of one (1) year of Relevant Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience creating PFMEA and control plans
- 1+ years of experience with lean/six sigma projects/improvements
- Proven experience in Electronic / Electrical product manufacture
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings, Schematics, and Bills of Materials
- Demonstrated knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)
- Experience in Lean manufacturing and Visual Control implementations
- Demonstrated experience in developing tooling used in the support of Assembly and Test of products
