Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer position at Dover Food Retail (DFR) is designed to drive manufacturing productivity and efficiency through the analysis, design, and implementation of tools, processes, and equipment. This role offers opportunities for rotation across different projects and departments to gain comprehensive exposure to various manufacturing processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Aid in managing capital expenditures as assigned, including project identification, justification, and completion.
• Deliver on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or other relevant technical fields, from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Training with AutoCAD or other layout and design software.
• Knowledge of value stream mapping, problem solving, facilitation, and Lean principles and tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Hands-on Mechanical skills, through hobbyist or semiformal training.
