Essential Job Functions
- Assists and develops manufacturing cost estimates for business cases.
- Leads in Design for Manufacturing/Fabrication (DFM/DFA) workshops.
- Ensures customer requirements are met by planning and designing manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes for Teijin production facilities.
- Captures and launches manufacturing equipment/processes for new and revised products across Teijin facilities from inception to execution.
- Maintains and ensures supplier compliance to equipment standards by creating detailed Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and managing efficient project management through timely design reviews, validations, and installations.
- Maintains compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, company performance standards, and specifications.
- Works and communicates effectively with customers and/or Program Managers to interpret their needs and requirements.
- Performs overall project control of the equipment launch (budget, schedule, plans), reports regularly on project status, and reviews project deliverables to initiate appropriate corrective actions for all areas of the equipment/process being launched.
- Identifies, qualifies, and develops new equipment suppliers.
- Performs research, testing, data gathering, measurements, or engineering analysis in an office, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
- Supports internal and external teams during the concept development process for the industrialization of customer projects.
- Conducts time and method studies to establish time standards for manufacturing operations.
- Develops standards for plant layouts, work instructions, process flow layout, set-up procedures while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity procedures and policies.
- Conducts line balancing studies, process simulations, and material flow studies to achieve optimal balance between manpower and machinery.
- Manages time and organizational skills.
- Displays decision-making abilities and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or technical training with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering-related field.
- Previous work experience or knowledge of engineering, automotive, or manufacturing is strongly preferred, including experience with navigating various 3D drawing formats and a working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Composites post-mold processing experience is a plus.
