About the role

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys improving how things are built. This role bridges Engineering and Manufacturing by developing smarter processes, improving production flow, reducing waste, supporting continuous improvement, and helping our teams manufacture highly customized crane systems safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, testing, and shipping
  • Design and maintain manufacturing routings for multiple product lines
  • Improve work cell layouts, material flow, and production methods
  • Support manufacturing throughout the product lifecycle
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM)
  • Support fabrication, machining, welding, and large equipment assembly teams
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) planning
  • Coordinate outsourced manufacturing activities where appropriate
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, conduct time studies, and establish production standards
  • Analyze manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, and efficiency
  • Develop manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain manufacturing routings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and production documentation
  • Standardize manufacturing workflows and engineering documentation

Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 3-5 years of experience supporting heavy industrial manufacturing, fabricated steel, overhead cranes, industrial equipment, OEM manufacturing, custom engineered products, or similar environments is preferred. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and material handling is essential. Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement is required. ERP system experience and CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) are preferred.

Pay

The pay for this position is dependent on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

This role requires availability to work full-time on-site Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates should be located within a reasonable daily commuting distance of: 531 Old Swede Road Douglassville, PA 19518.
