Manufacturing Engineer
Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help design and develop manufacturing processes and systems focused on exceeding quality, cost, and schedule requirements to support business growth. This role supports projects developing concepts and processes for new product and product enhancement programs, integrating specialized techniques into a lean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support, evaluate, and implement innovative, cost-effective, and safe manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments.
- Develop and implement manufacturing flows, layouts, and station controls.
- Collaborate with advanced manufacturing engineers on run-offs, installation, material flow, and work instruction creation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 0-4 years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and team player.
- Proficiency with MS Office, CAD software, and data analysis.
Work Environment
This is an onsite, 1st shift role in an industrial manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI. The position involves regular interaction with advanced manufacturing engineers, production personnel, and cross-functional teams in an environment focused on continuous improvement, safety, and quality. Work includes time on the shop floor overseeing equipment run-off, installation, and setup, as well as office-based planning, documentation, and data analysis. The role emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and adherence to standardized work practices.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
