About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world, making an impact by improving process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity through engineering and continuous improvement methods.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, initiate, and lead projects to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Use a variety of tools such as standard work, tier reviews, and kaizens to enhance equipment capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot variation, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Resolve equipment downtime issues, ensure quality and productivity, and meet service targets.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including specifications, preventative maintenance, and change management documentation.
  • Establish an extensive network of support to facilitate assignment completion.
  • Communicate at all levels of the organization to drive direction and serve as a technical resource within the immediate work group.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government, or military setting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in an Engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting with demonstrated strength in engineering and mechanical problem solving
  • Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, and designed experiments are beneficial; Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated capability and knowledge of equipment reliability concepts and methods
  • Experience managing and optimizing plant utilities
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain flexible to changes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience, teamwork, and communication skills

Pay & Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position is $98,964 - $120,957, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
