Amazon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the concept, design, build, and scaling of assembly operations. This hands‑on individual contributor role involves developing assembly processes, supporting equipment bring‑up, and scaling best practices in a high‑volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product design teams to provide DFM/DFA feedback, advocate for producible assembly processes, and iterate rapidly as product designs evolve.
- Develop and prove out assembly methods—including joining, fastening, adhesive bonding, and press‑fits—for complex electromechanical products.
- Support PFMEA development and contribute process knowledge upstream in product development.
- Design manufacturing line concepts, requirements, sizing/balancing/timing, material flow, equipment specifications, and commissioning.
- Contribute to line requirements such as layout, work content, cycle times, rates, and headcount.
- Support design of new assembly equipment and fixturing; assist with equipment specifications, vendor RFQ, selection, FAT, and deployment.
- Coordinate with equipment OEMs, tooling suppliers, and automation integrators as directed.
- Support end‑to‑end project execution and production readiness, including safety, quality, throughput, and scrap reduction.
- Identify opportunities to reduce non‑value‑add operations and drive improvements across build iterations.
- Develop and document assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and data‑driven problem‑solving to drive continuous improvement.

- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands‑on experience with assembly methods including mechanical joining, fastening, and adhesive bonding.
- Familiarity with production system design, vendor engagement, and equipment bring‑up.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and their application in iterative product development.
- Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced, high‑ambiguity environments.
