Manufacturing Electrical Quality Inspector

About the role

This position is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing moderately complex to extremely complex, high voltage electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical products. You will provide work instruction and may train new employees in the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and process control activities throughout the manufacturing process
• Support continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and reduce risks
• Work with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Ensure quality compliance during new manufacturing line setups and process changes
• Read and understand moderately complex to very complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and schematics
• Identify discrepancies between customer requirements and finished product
• Perform visual checks of completely finished product following customer specs and/or QC report procedure
• Perform highly complex troubleshooting and problem solving of electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical operations
• Determine cause of errors and establish a game plan to remedy errors to bring the product to the proper level of conformance
• Interact with Engineering on a regular basis to determine appropriate specifications and corrective actions when discrepancies arise
• Interact with Assembly operations regarding problems with wiring assembly
• Make minor to very complex adjustments and modifications to product
• Perform OHM check, input output, PLC, etc.
• Utilize PCs, PLCs, Universal Voltage Power Cart, Multi-Meter, Pulsar voltage and AMP Generator, Injection Carts for Ground Fault, Dielectric Hi-Pot Tester, etc.
• Provide training and guidance when new Testers are hired to the department
• Interact with external Customers, Field Sales personnel and may participate in on-site testing certification
• Work closely with supervisor to ensure quality standards and shipment commitments are met
• Utilize a wide variety of hand tools, air tools, and measuring equipment
• Continuously provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups relative to product improvement
• Complete test reports, quality documentation, data collection, etc. as required
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements
• Perform other tasks as may be requested to assure the effective and continuous utilization of assets

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 2-3 years experience testing switchboard/switchgear (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards in every task
• Ability to work within established guidelines while proactively identifying improvement opportunities
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and address quality concerns
• Comfortable in a dynamic manufacturing environment handling both routine and unexpected challenges

Schedule

• 1st shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30 PM - (end time not specified)
