Manufacturing Associate - Pallet Builder/Repair

About the role

As a Pallet Repairer, you’ll build and repair wooden pallets from freshly cut or recycled wood on a daily basis to fulfill customers’ needs. This is a piece rate position; the more pallets you repair, the more you earn.

Responsibilities

• Receive wood from the saw shop and piece together with a nail gun along set stringers
• Stack finished product by hand for forklift operators to move to appropriate areas
• Ensure safety for yourself and others by following all company procedures
• Achieve high standards of quality while maintaining high volume of finished goods

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift wooden pallets weighing about 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to work in extreme conditions including elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Repetitively lift 50–75 lbs and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lumber, warehouse, construction, carpentry, landscaping, or roofing experience
• Quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Noise level varies by location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: eye protection, ear protection (mandatory at several locations), safety shoes
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
