About the role

This position is "hands on" and requires a self-starter mindset. You will set up equipment for production following the schedule to fulfill customer orders. The majority of your shift involves operating large equipment such as shredders and grinders. You will manually load and unload product into and out of equipment. Material Handlers are regularly on their feet, monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining awareness of the equipment they operate. Forklifts are used to transfer material within the production floor—though this is not a forklift position. Safety is critical to everyone's success, and you will be responsible for executing all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up production equipment according to schedule and customer orders
• Operate shredders and grinders
• Manually load and unload product into and out of equipment
• Monitor and adjust equipment during operation
• Execute all safety protocols

Requirements

• Self-starter with a willingness to learn
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and good attendance
• Able to work a 12-hour night shift (7 pm to 7 am)
• Rotating schedule every 2 weeks: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next (includes every other weekend)
• Must meet physical qualifications:
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Lift, throw, bend, squat, twist, and reach
  • Work in hot and cold conditions
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Able to read, write, and understand English
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus but not required
• Mechanically inclined with attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist others

Pay

Starting rate of up to $20.50 an hour (includes overtime and shift differential). Performance reviews every 6 months.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shift (7 pm to 7 am)
• Rotating schedule every 2 weeks: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Includes every other weekend
• 7 days off in a 2-week period for better work-life balance
