Duties
- Lead and coordinate all production and material flow activities, ensuring cost-effective, safe, and high-quality operations while driving continuous improvement and aligning with customer and business goals.
- Lead and manage the performance of the operations team, including supervisors, purchasing, logistics coordinators, and production staff across all shifts.
- Determine manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and customer demand, ensuring timely updates and adherence to delivery, quality, safety, and cost goals.
- Develop and implement Lean material handling and inventory strategies, including supermarket and Kanban systems, to optimize material flow and inventory control.
- Direct the scheduling, receiving, unloading, and storage procedures for all raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Analyze production schedules and customer forecasts (EDI) to determine material and manpower needs in alignment with plant capabilities and capacity.
- Supervise and audit work activities.
- Maintain total inventory accuracy through effective inventory control practices.
- Monitor and continuously improve shipping, receiving, storage, and material handling processes, supporting a 6S culture throughout the plant.
- Collaborate with teams on process changes, ERP system enhancements, and customer communication.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and increase efficiency in coordination with technical and quality staff.
- Participate in the onboarding and continuous training of employees.
- Actively engage in daily production meetings, addressing concerns related to schedule adherence and shipping requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all systems and standards related to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001:2015.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate team performance, providing coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, Operations, or a related technical field & 3 yrs exp, including 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in both production and materials management;
- 3 years of experience in thermoplastic/composite processes, such as injection molding, compression molding, extrusion, and hydraulic press operations;
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 6S, FIFO, and ERP systems (AS400 or similar);
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced level).
