About the role
The Manufacturing Manager supports Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions. This individual will lead and manage the operations of all production areas to ensure safety, quality, manufacturing standards, and finances are achieved in accordance with Company expectations. The role will report to the Plant Operations Manager and will plan and establish work schedules, staffing requirements, and production activities that ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Aids the Plant Operations Leader in developing and formulating long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives affecting their assigned area.
- Provides leadership, support, and guidance to employees and ensures the goals and objectives of the organization are met.
- Facilitates the Training/Cross training of employees for flexibility within and across departments.
- Communicates the status of the area performance, projects, and initiatives across the business.
- Achieves optimum team performance impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development.
- Reviews production variances, scrap, and cycle count reports to assure accuracy and drive improvements.
- Provides motivation, support, and guidance to all employees.
- Makes recommendations about the manufacturing plant and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Implements manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
- Oversees performance management for all production employees.
- PARTNERS Closely with other department leaders (Human Resources, Warehouse, Quality, R&D, Finance, Engineering, etc.) to drive effective plant operations.
- Initiates and coordinates major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
- Stays current on technology and leading manufacturing practices.
- OWNS the results of their assigned area and drives change and improvements with the team.
- PERFORMS additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or business administration or equivalent experience
- Required: 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in Coating/adhesive or chemical industry
- Required: Proven performance in continuous improvement practices and analysis
- Required: Ability to work effectively with others in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred: Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean training
- Preferred: SAP
- Preferred: Proficient computer skills
- Preferred: Good written and verbal communication skills
